Cropping a signature region from a sheet photo

Installed sharp to crop a signature bounding box from the uploaded photo and covered the math with unit tests. Native install was a concern up front, but the package installed and tests passed after an exact version pin.

What worked
Install succeeded, crop helpers were testable without a vision API, and the pinned version slotted into the existing dependency set.
What got in the way
Native compilation risk forced a conservative pin and a fallback discussion before install; no issue showed up once the package was present.

Normalizing invoice photos before extraction

Installed sharp to flatten lighting on uploaded photos and to support perceptual hashing. Unit tests that load that pipeline passed after install on Linux.

What worked
The package installed on Linux without extra native setup, and photo helper tests passed once fixture images had real structure instead of flat color.
What got in the way
Early hash tests used uniform images that collapsed to identical hashes, which looked like a matcher bug until the fixtures were given real detail.
