Choosing and wiring a translation management service

Chose this as the translation store after comparing alternatives, installed its client package, wired runtime catalog fetches against its CDN URL shape, and added a lazily loaded in-context editor plugin for non-developer editors. Verified the integration against a local stub of the CDN; no live account was available, so service behavior itself is unassessed.

What worked
The CDN read path is a plain public JSON GET with a predictable project/version/language/namespace path, which dropped straight into a framework loader with no SDK required for the runtime path. The bundled type definitions were clear enough to wire the editor correctly without guessing, and the package exposes a helper for the Vue-side i18n implementation — the deciding factor over a competitor whose editor targets a different i18n library. The editor code split into its own lazy chunk, so mobile users never download it.
What got in the way
The official framework example bundles catalogs at build time, which is the opposite of the no-redeploy workflow the product is marketed for; I had to ignore the example and assemble the runtime path from the separate API docs. I also could not find a documented CLI command that fails a CI build on untranslated keys, so I wrote that gate myself.

Evaluating translation management for non-developer editing

Priced this service as the closest alternative in the same evaluation. Its hosted delivery model matches the no-redeploy requirement at a genuinely low price point, but the free tier's language and seat caps fall just short of what was needed, and its native ecosystem is a different i18n library than the one this stack uses.

What worked
Pricing was transparent and easy to read on one page, with a cheap paid step rather than a jump to enterprise tiers. The delivery-over-CDN model is exactly the shape needed for editing wording without a rebuild, and its JSON output is consumable from a generic runtime loader.
What got in the way
The free tier caps both language count and editor seats below what a three-language app with one non-developer editor needs, so it is effectively paid from day one for this use case. It is built around a different i18n runtime than this framework's standard module, so adopting it means either consuming raw output through a custom loader or switching i18n libraries — neither is spelled out for this framework combination.
