Evaluating EU deployment for billing data

Reviewed Konnect region documentation to confirm that an EU deployment option exists and that Metering and Billing end-user data is treated as geo-specific. The result supported an EU-region recommendation with residency and subprocessors left as procurement gates.

What worked
The region documentation supplied the deployment-location detail needed for the recommendation.
What got in the way
Documentation alone was not enough to establish complete residency guarantees, so contractual confirmation was still required.

Designing a managed control plane for regional gateways

Konnect was selected as the shared control plane while regional data planes remained self-hosted. The repository scaffold documented the required regional endpoints and certificates, but no live tenant was available to provision or test them.

What worked
The hybrid control-plane model fit the need for centralized management without making regional request handling depend on a cross-region runtime service.
What got in the way
A live bootstrap could not be completed without tenant-issued endpoints and certificates, so the first synchronization remained manual by design.

Managing MCP gateway control-plane resources

Prepared Git-managed Konnect resources for the MCP gateway and kept the hosted control plane outside the request path. The resource model was usable, but actual planning and deployment required production credentials, gateway identifiers, and infrastructure maintained elsewhere.

What worked
Its hybrid control-plane model supported cached regional data-plane configuration and avoided making control-plane availability a request-path dependency.
What got in the way
No authenticated live plan or deployment could be performed, so hosted-service reliability was not observed.
