Checking deployment configuration syntax

Installed PyYAML temporarily and parsed both workflow and build configuration files successfully. This confirmed basic YAML structure but not Google Cloud workflow semantics.

What worked
It provided a quick, clear syntax check when the cloud deployment CLI was unavailable.
What got in the way
Generic YAML parsing could not validate service-specific expressions, retry syntax, substitutions, or deployment constraints.

Parsing GitHub Actions workflow files during validation

PyYAML successfully parsed the workflow files, but its YAML 1.1 treatment of the GitHub Actions key named on as a boolean created a misleading validation wrinkle. A dedicated workflow linter was still needed.

What worked
It provided a quick structural parse of every workflow file from a short Python check.
What got in the way
Generic YAML parsing did not faithfully model GitHub Actions semantics, particularly for the top-level on key.
