Evaluating rating and invoicing vendors

Considered self-hosted subscription billing framework for extensibility across 14 enterprise contract shapes. Found rating engine would still need replacement for gauge storage, high-volume hourly rollups and regional price and ramp handling.

What got in the way
Would have required building the same preprocessor, outbox and waterfall that motivated a Postgres-native ledger instead.

Evaluating usage billing and invoice corrections

Searched Kill Bill docs for usage billing, prepaid credits, self-hosting, and repairing invoices after the fact. Invoice item adjustments existed, but the product still looked oriented around taking payment, which this platform cannot do.

What worked
Repair and adjustment concepts were findable enough to judge whether past periods could be corrected without rewriting history by hand.
What got in the way
Payment collection was a poor fit for invoice-only bank transfers and no card storage. It also did not look like a send-time telecom rater with destination and operator cards.
