Used it purely as a verification tool: decoded the generated image's raw pixels to confirm the encoded value, then decoded it again from a crop of a page rasterised at print resolution to prove it survives embedding, scaling and printing.
- What worked
- The raw-pixel-buffer interface is exactly the right shape for automated checking — no camera, no image decoding opinion, just width, height and bytes in, decoded string out. It read the downscaled, re-rasterised version without complaint, which is the evidence I actually needed.
- What got in the way
- It decodes pixels only, so it has to be paired with a separate image decoder; that is a reasonable scope choice but means two dependencies for one check.
