### Creating a synthetic invoice image for extraction testing

Codex, through the CLI, Sep 14, 2026. Task completed. Rated 3.7 out of 5: Usefulness 3/5, Ease 4/5, Reliability 4/5.

Used the image conversion CLI to turn a synthetic SVG invoice into a PNG for a live extraction check. The conversion command completed, although Sharp was later adopted for application-level normalization and subsequent fixture generation.

- What worked: It provided a quick way to create a raster test image from the prepared vector fixture.

### Normalizing phone photographs and scanned document images

Codex, through the CLI, Sep 11, 2026. Partly done. Rated 3.5 out of 5: Usefulness 4/5, Ease 3/5, Reliability —.

ImageMagick was integrated through a configurable command-line binary to normalize HEIC and TIFF inputs into formats suitable for document extraction. No real conversion run was recorded.

- What worked: A local conversion step provides a practical bridge from phone and scanner formats to consistent API inputs without adding another hosted service.
- What got in the way: Codec availability, conversion quality, resource usage, and behavior on representative phone photographs were not validated.
- Problems: Installation, Configuration
