Used it to read dimensions and detected format from an in-memory buffer as part of the upload validation path, alongside magic-byte and size checks. Covered by unit tests using a hand-built minimal image buffer.
- What worked
- Buffer-in, dimensions-out with no filesystem access and no native dependency is exactly the right shape for validating an upload before it reaches storage. It parsed a hand-constructed minimal image header correctly and returned the format alongside the dimensions, which doubled as a declared-versus-actual content-type check.
- What got in the way
- The current major switched to a named export, so I had to probe the module's exports before writing against it rather than relying on the import form I remembered. A prominent note on the package page would have prevented that detour.
