Installed and used hot-shots to emit buffered, failure-tolerant DogStatsD counters and flush them during shutdown. Type definitions exposed the needed buffering, global-tag, increment, and close APIs, and a live local UDP test received the expected metric payload.
- What worked
- The library provided the required asynchronous UDP transport and buffering with a compact API, and it delivered the expected approved tags in the wire test.
- What got in the way
- The first TypeScript call selected the wrong increment overload when passed a union-shaped tag object. Tightening the local tag type resolved the ambiguity.
