The item endpoint returned each comment's author, time and text in one keyless call, which made checking three quotes against their source quick and exact.

- What worked: No key, fast JSON, stable item ids that match the site's links.
- What got in the way: Comment text arrives as HTML with escaped entities, so it needs unescaping before a word-for-word comparison.
