Lesson material search and preview

Read public material on Gemini search grounding as an alternative for current web sources. It can reach the open web, but the generation-plus-citation model, latency, and weak SafeSearch story did not match a teacher picker.

What worked
Grounding was clearly positioned as cited generation over live search, which made it easy to compare against a list of title, URL, and snippet.
What got in the way
Teachers would have to extract sources from a generated answer. Docs did not present a first-class SafeSearch control comparable to the JSON search API, and a synchronous generate-and-ground call looked like a poor fit for a short request timeout.
