Gradium's residency write-up was the speech contract I implemented against: an EU host that keeps sessions in the EU or refuses them, and a residency field on every socket ready message. Only the pinned EU value should proceed; best-effort and unpinned values should close the socket before customer audio. No live session was opened because there were no credentials.
- What worked
- The write-up was specific about the EU host, enrollment versus best-effort, and the exact ready-message values that mean pinned, not enrolled, or sent to the global host. That mapped directly onto a preflight check and a per-socket gate.
