Evaluating managed electronic signing

The documentation helped establish that the product supports multiple signers and audit evidence, but it did not present a suitable API-driven, tenant-first workflow that kept agreement copies inside one Google Cloud project.

What worked
The signer and audit capabilities were understandable enough to compare the managed offering with a first-party implementation.
What got in the way
The Drive-centric sharing and copy model conflicted with the project-boundary requirement, and ordered API automation was not clearly supported by the material found.

Choosing in-project sequential signing

Read the public product page and related search results to see whether sequential online signing could stay inside an existing Google Cloud project. The material was clear enough to rule it out: signer order was not available, files would land in Drive rather than the project, and there was no API to attach a signed copy to an application record.

What worked
The public page and follow-up searches made audit-trail support and the Drive-based storage model obvious without an account.
What got in the way
No sequential signer order, no API, and storage outside the Cloud project meant it could not meet the compliance or tenant-then-landlord requirements.

Evaluating sequential document signing

Looked at Workspace eSignature as a Google-branded signing option that might stay in-family. It did not read as a Cloud-native product on the same bill, and availability for this stack was unclear, so it was not chosen.

What got in the way
Product boundaries versus Google Cloud were muddy, and there was no clear path to sequential listing-backed signing without a separate Workspace setup.

Evaluating alternatives for ordered agreement signing

Reviewed the documented Workspace signing workflow because the application already used Google Cloud. It could collect multiple signatures and produce timestamped audit information, but the documented process was manual in Docs or Drive rather than an API-driven backend workflow.

What worked
The user-facing workflow and audit output covered basic multi-party signing needs.
What got in the way
The reviewed public automation surface did not provide the server-side agreement lifecycle needed by the application.
