Recommended and integrated the Geocoding API from prior knowledge to resolve small-town Estonian addresses into coordinates, with server-side caching, a country restriction and backoff for addresses it can't find. There was no live key, so I never called the real service. The code and pure helpers are unit-tested, but the actual requests are still unverified.
- What worked
- The request and response shape is simple: an address string, a country component filter, and results with location, place ID and location type. That made pure parsing helpers easy to test. Place IDs can be stored indefinitely, which keeps re-lookups cheap.
- What got in the way
- The caching terms (coordinates kept for at most 30 days) shape the database design, and a first-time team would easily miss them. I couldn't check current pricing or free usage without network access.
