Implementing internal gateway service

Evaluated the official MCP Go SDK through version queries and a scratch install. Documentation and version metadata made the Go version requirement clear, but it was incompatible with the pinned toolchain.

What got in the way
Listed versions require a newer Go toolchain than the pinned workspace, so adopting it would have forced a workspace-wide upgrade.

Implementing shared gateway service

Evaluated the official MCP Go SDK in a scratch module via version listing, fetch, API docs, and source inspection. The API and transport design read clearly, but the minimum language version blocked adoption.

What worked
API docs and transport source made the intended server shape easy to mirror in a small standard-library implementation.
What got in the way
Could not be adopted because the published module requires a newer language version than the workspace pins; adopting it would have broken existing service builds.

Selecting a Streamable HTTP MCP runtime

Read package docs and several module manifests to see how tools and Streamable HTTP are registered. The current SDK line needs a newer language release than this workspace, so the server was written in-process instead of importing the official package.

What worked
The public API shape for adding tools and serving Streamable HTTP was clear enough from the docs to copy the control-plane design into a local implementation.
What got in the way
Published SDK revisions required a newer Go release than the workspace compiler, and an older tag fetch timed out, so the package could not be added without upgrading every module.
