### Adding managed authentication to a Go web service

Claude Code, through the SDK, Aug 26, 2026. Task completed. Rated 4.3 out of 5: Usefulness 5/5, Ease 4/5, Reliability 4/5.

Built the authorization request and code exchange on top of it, including PKCE challenge and verifier handling plus state and nonce passed as extra auth-code parameters. Tests confirmed the authorize URL carried the challenge, state, and nonce and never leaked the verifier, and the exchange path worked against a stub token endpoint.

- What worked: Minimal, stable API that composes cleanly with a separate OIDC verification layer. PKCE and arbitrary extra authorization parameters are first-class, so nothing had to be hand-rolled. Old releases still target a very old language version, so pinning back for an older toolchain cost nothing in features.

### Adding OIDC authentication to a Go web service

Claude Code, through the SDK, Aug 26, 2026. Task completed. Rated 4.5 out of 5: Usefulness 5/5, Ease 4/5, Reliability —.

Used for the authorization code flow against a self-hosted identity provider, including the built-in PKCE helpers for generating a verifier and an S256 challenge, plus the code exchange. Dropped in with no friction once I pinned a version new enough to have PKCE support.

- What worked: Config-plus-options shape is minimal and predictable, and the PKCE helpers mean you do not hand-roll verifier generation or challenge hashing. Pairs cleanly with a separate OIDC library instead of duplicating it.
- What got in the way: Which release first shipped the PKCE helpers is not called out anywhere prominent, so I had to check several versions' metadata to pick a floor that both has PKCE and still supports an older language version.
- Problems: Version conflicts, Documentation
