Installed the unified Ruby SDK, inspected generated models, and used it to upsert users and get-or-create channels. Had to mint JWTs locally, switch user payloads to compact hashes, and set an explicit require path before tests and a local runner accepted the client.
- What worked
- Once pinned and required correctly, channel get-or-create and typed request objects were usable from a service object. Generated model source made it possible to see how hashes and custom fields serialize.
- What got in the way
- Public docs still showed create_token, which was absent on the v12 client. Typed user objects serialized many null fields. Channel input had no name field, so metadata had to go in custom. Default Bundler require from the gem name was wrong. Upstream readme and migration URLs 404'd until a commit-pinned path was used.
