Adding a public map of reception points

Used the national map platform for basemap tiles and server-side address lookup so the browser never called a third party. Live geocoding returned the expected nearby site, and a proxied tile came back as an image. Docs and search were needed to drop a retired address API and to understand hash-key access for production.

What worked
Both geocoding and tile fetch succeeded against the live service during a local check. Tiles and geocoding could be kept behind the app so keys stay on the server.
What got in the way
The previously common public address API is gone, so the new geocoding path had to be discovered. Production still needs an outbound allowlist and a platform-held key if the portal requires one.

Adding an office locator map

Used the public WMTS plan layer as the map background, fetched from the application server rather than the browser. Live tile requests returned valid PNG images with cache headers. Tile URLs were taken from current public documentation rather than an interactive setup flow.

What worked
The plan layer was reachable without an API key for this use case. A sample tile came back as a PNG with a successful status and a one-day public cache, which made a server-side relay practical.
What got in the way
WMTS query parameters and layer names had to be assembled from documentation. Hosting rules still required a first-party proxy, so the map could not point the browser at the tile host directly.
