Evaluated this as the candidate data source for finding grant funders in a specific region and size band, reading public pricing and developer-access material only. The underlying data is the most authoritative option for the domain, but I could not find a self-serve programmatic path that would let an application pull results and write them into its own records, so I recommended against it for this build.
- What worked
- Subscription tiers are published openly, including a free search tier, which made the cost comparison against alternatives straightforward without contacting sales. The dataset is clearly the right one for the question being asked.
- What got in the way
- It reads as a human-facing web product: developer access is not documented in a way that let me judge availability, pricing or terms without a sales conversation, so there was no path to pulling findings into an application automatically. For a small team that wants results captured in their own system rather than copied by hand, that was disqualifying.
