Queried the public interpreter for highways, water, and place nodes over a bounded service area, splitting the box into a grid so requests would finish. A places query that asked for tags only came back without coordinates; switching the output mode fixed it.

- Live queries succeeded after a small probe, and grid tiling produced a usable extract for roads and later place points.
- What got in the way
- Large bounding-box queries were treated as timeout risks. Tag-only node output omitted lat/lon, which looked like an empty places layer until the query was changed.
