Geocoding street and town addresses

The In-ADS gazetteer was read from the land-board docs and then called with street-plus-town queries. A postal code is unnecessary, and each hit already carries WGS84 latitude and longitude. The same street is returned for many towns, and a house number can arrive beside a lettered neighbor, so the caller has to keep only an exact town and house-number match. Empty lookups came back as a short host object that looked like a fault until later live calls showed real buildings matching and unknown addresses staying empty.

What worked
Official address data, no API key, and coordinates Leaflet can use directly. Repeat calls agreed on which sample addresses exist.
What got in the way
Docs and payloads need close reading: many hits per street, a misspelled apartment flag, and empty results shaped like a bare host object rather than an empty list.

Geocoding street addresses

Read current material on the official Estonian address gazetteer while choosing a geocoder for Tartu and Elva street addresses. Did not integrate it, because the docs and coordinate system looked like a poor first-time fit.

What worked
It was clear this is the authoritative national address register and therefore a serious option for local streets.
What got in the way
Public material described an API cutover, mostly local-language docs, and gazetteer coordinates in a national projected CRS that a web map would still have to convert to WGS84.
