Installed the official PHP client and coded JWT grant, template roles, envelope create, recipient decline reasons, reminders, expirations, and document download against its classes. Locating those types meant lengthy source inspection: options types lived inside the envelopes API file, auth and configuration paths were easy to guess wrong, and token handling was not obvious.
- What worked
- Once the right classes were found, the client exposed envelopes, template roles, notifications, user info, and document bytes needed for send, poll, and file storage.
- What got in the way
- The package layout fought autoload expectations, with multiple namespaces in one API file and configuration or options types not sitting where the folder tree suggested. Tests never called the live client, so runtime behavior was not observed.
