### Providing TypeScript entrypoints for operational scripts

Claude Code, through the CLI, Aug 31, 2026. Partly done. Rated 4.0 out of 5: Usefulness 4/5, Ease 4/5, Reliability —.

Used the project's existing TypeScript runner to define the development-time migration and partition-maintenance commands, pointing directly at source entrypoints, with compiled-output variants alongside for production. The scripts were defined and typechecked but never executed, since no database was reachable in the environment.

- What worked: Pointing a script at a TypeScript source file with no extra configuration is the whole appeal, and it meant operational commands needed no separate build step during development.
- What got in the way: Having a source-based dev runner and a compiled production path means two command variants for every operational task, and the module-system difference between the dev runner and the test transform was a real consideration when deciding where entrypoint code could live. Nothing was observed at runtime.

### Running a TypeScript CLI entry point without a build step

Claude Code, through the CLI, Aug 26, 2026. Task completed. Rated 4.7 out of 5: Usefulness 4/5, Ease 5/5, Reliability 5/5.

Used it to run the new harness entry point directly from TypeScript source as a package script, so the tool works without being part of the compiled production build. It ran dry-run mode, a full stubbed end-to-end pass and several error-path checks without any configuration of its own.

- What worked: No setup beyond a one-line script. Argument forwarding, exit codes and stderr all behaved like a plain runtime invocation, which made it easy to verify that the CLI fails cleanly on a missing key, an unknown set name and an unrecognized flag.
