Used HEAD with redirects in a scheduled task to mark kept material URLs as ok, gone, or unknown. The library was already present; no live HEAD traffic was observed in this task.

- What worked: HEAD with redirect following was a small, obvious fit for later proving a stored link had disappeared, without adding a new HTTP stack.
