### Installing a Java runtime

Used the Adoptium binary API to fetch the latest Temurin 21 JDK tarball after system packages were unavailable. An extra query parameter produced HTTP 404; the same path without that parameter succeeded.

- What worked: HEAD and GET against the latest-release binary route eventually returned a usable JDK archive for the target OS and architecture.
- What got in the way: Including a project query string on the latest binary URL returned 404 with no useful body, which looked like a broken mirror until the parameter was removed.
