Installed and integrated the provider-abstraction library for text generation with tools and conversation history. Implemented record lookup, history and recent-activity tools plus a service that resolves the provider and model from configuration. Verified with the built-in fake; live providers were never called.
- What worked
- Tool definition, multi-step tool use, message-chain history and provider switching via configuration were clear. Published config and testing fakes made offline verification practical.
- What got in the way
- Documentation did not make it obvious that prompt and message history cannot be combined, which required a fix to append the new question to the message chain instead.
