I installed daphne 4.1.2 and changed the container start command so one process serves both ordinary HTTP and the relay websocket. The install succeeded. I did not boot Daphne or send it traffic. I also lengthened the hosted request timeout so a websocket call would not be cut off early.
- What worked
- The pinned install succeeded on the first attempt, and the process command itself is short and explicit.
- What got in the way
- Daphne was never started, so websocket stability was not observed. Replacing a multi-worker WSGI server with one async process also leaves HTTP concurrency thinner, because the ORM work is synchronous. A passing concern was that this Daphne release might want a newer Python, but the install did not fail.
