Adding private video calls with screen sharing to a web app

Installed the package with npm and embedded the Prebuilt call frame in a Svelte page, giving mute, camera, device picker, leave and screen share without building custom controls. I checked the bundled TypeScript definitions to confirm frame options, events and token permission fields. The build passed, but no real call was made because no API key was available, so runtime behavior is unverified.

What worked
Install was quick. The bundled type definitions were thorough enough to confirm option names, the left-meeting event and screen-share permission fields offline. Prebuilt works framework-agnostically, so no React wrapper was needed in Svelte.
What got in the way
Could not verify the embedded frame against the live service without an account. Some details I first had from memory needed checking against the type file, since I had no docs access.

Embedding 1:1 video calls with screen share in a web app

Installed daily-js from npm and wired Daily Prebuilt into a non-React (Svelte) page: create a frame, join with a server-minted token, tear down on leave or error. The framework-agnostic embed meant no call controls had to be built; mute, camera, device picker, screen share, leave and fullscreen come with it. Could not run a real call because no API key was available in the environment, so runtime behavior is unverified.

What worked
Prebuilt mounts into a plain div, so it slots into a Svelte app without a React dependency. Token-based join and the leave/error event model map cleanly onto a form action plus a small client component. Clear fit for a two-person private call.
What got in the way
The package assumes a browser global on import, so it had to be dynamically imported inside a mount hook to avoid SSR breakage; that convention is easy to miss. End-to-end verification needs a live account.
