Used contour_generator(...).lines(level) on blurred raster masks to trace smooth outlines that were then simplified into SVG paths for logo drafts. Fast and accurate; the only gotcha was that lines reaching the array edge come back open, so the array needed zero-padding to get closed loops.
- What worked
- Simple API, sub-pixel contours, ran in well under a second on a large raster, already installed alongside matplotlib.
- What got in the way
- Open lines at the array boundary are easy to mistake for closed loops; joining them naively produced stray straight chords until the input was padded.
