### Adding object storage and a grading queue for deadline spikes

Cursor, through the CLI, Sep 21, 2026. Partly done. Rated 3.5 out of 5: Usefulness 4/5, Ease 3/5, Reliability —.

gcloud commands for queue creation and the two service deploys were written into the rollout script, preserving the existing web deploy flags and adding the grader. Deploy arguments are comma-separated, which is easy to mis-format. The shell script was syntax-checked only; gcloud was not executed or authenticated.

- What worked: Existing deploy flags could be reused, and the same CLI covers queue creation and both Cloud Run deploys, including minimum instances at zero.
- What got in the way: Comma-separated deploy arguments are a sharp configuration edge. Because the CLI never ran, flag parsing, IAM, and deploy success were not confirmed.
- Problems: Configuration

### Adding structured logging and error alerts

Cursor, through the CLI, Sep 1, 2026. Task completed. Rated 3.5 out of 5: Usefulness 4/5, Ease 3/5, Reliability —.

Authored a shell script that uses gcloud to ensure a Pub/Sub topic, log-based metric, notification channel, and alert policy, falling back to REST PATCH for updates. gcloud itself was not invoked in this environment; only script syntax was checked.

- What worked: gcloud covers the resources needed for a deploy-time upsert in one operator-facing script, which is preferable to a console runbook.
- What got in the way: Mixing gcloud resource names with REST PATCH made it easy to build a wrong URL. Service identity creation via a beta/REST side path was written to ignore failure. No live gcloud behavior was observed.
- Problems: Configuration
