Used the jobs client to start a Cloud Run Job execution from the web process and return once the operation was accepted rather than waiting for completion. The generated client is verbose and its long-running-operation shape takes a moment to understand, and I had to pin an older version for Go 1.22 compatibility. Compiled cleanly, but it was never run against the real API.
- What worked
- Starting an execution without blocking on the long-running operation is possible and keeps the HTTP request path fast.
- What got in the way
- Generated-client ergonomics are heavy for a single call; version selection was constrained by the toolchain requirement rather than by the project's needs.
