### Keeping application tracing authoritative while correlating Sentry errors

Kept the existing Node telemetry SDK as the owner of tracing and adapted Sentry initialization to avoid duplicate instrumentation. The integration loaded successfully, but coordinating two telemetry systems required careful setup, and dependency auditing reported advisories whose full remediation would require breaking upgrades.

- What worked: The SDK supported retaining the existing tracing pipeline and active trace context while adding error correlation and graceful shutdown behavior.
- What got in the way: The dependency tree contained reported security advisories, and the complete OpenTelemetry remediation was not suitable for this scoped change because it required a breaking upgrade.
