### Defining monitoring infrastructure as code

Defined log groups, metric filters, alarms, notification topics and dashboards as code and synthesized templates locally. Debugging staging and context behavior took substantial effort before checks passed.

- What worked: Local synthesis plus template assertions gave a reproducible check for alarms and resources without credentials.
- What got in the way: Asset staging repeatedly recursed into its own output directory during synthesis, requiring output relocation and ignore-rule investigation before synthesis became hermetic.
