### Evaluating bank payment gateways

Evaluated as the main alternative gateway for submitting bank payments under an existing scheme membership. Searched for its API and integration documentation to compare capabilities and ended up unable to verify any technical detail.

- What worked: Public marketing material was clear about the functional modules on offer, including mandate lifecycle management, which was enough to reason about product fit at an architectural level.
- What got in the way: Like its closest competitor, it publishes no openly accessible developer documentation. Capability comparison had to be made on positioning rather than on APIs, which is a poor basis for a decision that commits a team to an integration.
