Comparing document extraction pricing

Queried the retail prices endpoint for Document Intelligence meters in east US after the marketing price page failed to show amounts. The call returned a JSON item list. Parsed meters included prebuilt pages at $10 per 1,000, custom pages at $30 per 1,000, read pages at $1.50 per 1,000, and add-ons at $6 per 1,000. Those figures were used for the monthly estimate. The filter had to match the renamed product name.

What worked
The regional filter returned concrete meter names and currency amounts that the public pricing page had not shown, including key-value pairs as a free add-on on the layout rate.
What got in the way
The product rename meant the filter string had to be checked before the meters were trustworthy, and the body arrived as one dense line that needed a separate parse step.

Document analysis cost estimate

Queried retail meters by service and region after the marketing pricing page redacted amounts. The payload included commitment and disconnected SKUs that had to be filtered, but remaining meters supplied Layout and related unit prices for the write-up.

What worked
The unauthenticated retail feed returned parseable meters for the chosen region when the human pricing page did not.
What got in the way
Results were noisy with commitment SKUs, so prices were not readable without a filter script. This was a workaround, not a documented customer pricing UX.

Estimating extraction cost per document

Queried the public retail price feed for Document Intelligence and regional model meters after the public pricing page was not enough. A first HTTP client call broke on filter escaping; a follow-up script returned the consumption meters needed to price a ten-page run.

What worked
Once the filter was passed correctly, West Europe and Sweden Central consumption meters came back and matched the Layout, classifier, and custom-page rates used in the estimate.
What got in the way
The first request failed with an empty body after the filter query was mangled, so the feed looked broken until it was retried with safer encoding.
