### Building a permission-trimmed records assistant

Integrated the supported Java agent client for managed conversational responses and source annotations. The module compiled and its tests passed, but choosing a compatible release and understanding Azure-specific response fields required inspecting multiple SDK source versions.

- What worked: The SDK provided a supported path for managed conversation context and Azure AI Search tool calls, avoiding custom orchestration infrastructure.
- What got in the way: The API surface and examples were not immediately clear for structured inputs, forced tool choice, and extracting Azure Search output. Dependency compatibility also required a BOM upgrade.
