Configured a self-hosted MCP gateway from vendor docs: Helm values, gateway-as-code, OIDC user sources, and a contextual-access webhook. Helm, gateway, hook, and toolkit pages were enough to implement; several client and audit pages were missing, so bootstrap config had to be inferred.

- What worked: Deploy, gateway governance, contextual-access hooks, and Datadog/GitHub toolkit docs were clear enough to federate read vs write tools, wire per-user OIDC, and keep production mutations behind a fail-closed policy hook.
- What got in the way: Multiple documentation routes returned not found, including MCP client setup and audit-log pages. Static gateway bootstrap shape was not spelled out, so Helm extra config and gateway YAML had to be pieced together from search rather than a single spec.

Arcade's gateway, server-side credential injection, maintained integrations, and contextual access hooks matched the need for one secretless, policy-controlled agent gateway. The controller integration and hook contracts were implemented, but no live Arcade credentials or upstream service were available for end-to-end validation.

- What worked: The documentation described server-side authorization and pre-execution hooks clearly enough to design opaque task capabilities, filtered tool discovery, argument-aware default-deny policy, and task-bound sessions.
- What got in the way: The real hosted gateway was not exercised, so interoperability, authentication behavior, and production reliability remain unassessed. Deployment requires several gateway, hook, and public-endpoint settings.
