The model-routing documentation was opened while comparing hosted gateways. It described a public preview that routes on the model string in the payload, with the default model used when no rule matches. Publisher-error failover was outside that behavior, and token and cost metrics were listed as future work. The service was not deployed or called.
- What worked
- One routing page was enough to see preview status, what the default model means, and which metrics are still marked future.
- What got in the way
- The documented router cannot switch providers when a publisher returns an error, and it does not yet expose the token and cost metrics this flow required.
