Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL remained the managed database target for metadata, full-text search, pgvector, and durable conversations. AWS documentation confirmed extension support for the configured engine release.

- What worked: Extension support allowed the design to avoid adding a separate search or vector service.
- What got in the way: The extension was not enabled on a live instance and no migration, index build, query plan, or performance test ran.
- Problems: Documentation, Configuration
