Estimating persistent storage cost for a GPU document-processing worker

Used official EBS pricing documentation to estimate the retained cost of a 100 GB gp3 boot and model-cache volume for the proposed worker. The pricing information was sufficient for the cost model, but no volume was provisioned.

What worked
The documentation supported a simple capacity-based monthly estimate that could also be prorated for a short batch run.

Configuring encrypted persistent storage for Kafka

Defined an encrypted general-purpose block storage class for persistent Kafka volumes in the existing regional Kubernetes environment. The configuration was renderable, but no cloud provisioning or volume attachment occurred.

What worked
The storage-class parameters expressed encryption and the desired volume type declaratively alongside the Kafka resources.
What got in the way
Provisioner availability, encryption enforcement, performance, and recovery behavior were not tested against a live account.
