Used inline x-data with the persist plugin for column toggles saved in localStorage, x-show for columns and hover state shared between table rows and side cards. A string-form style binding on the same element as x-show replaced the display:none that x-show set, so hidden columns reappeared after reload. Object-form style binding fixed it.

- What worked: Persist plugin and x-show made toggles that survive reloads with a few attributes.
- What got in the way: The string style binding silently overriding x-show was hard to spot; no warning.
