Adding managed search to a web app

I installed the JavaScript client at 5.59.0 and coded indexing, index settings, and search through it. The install was clean and the methods I needed were present. Generated declarations were split across packages and hard to scan, and strictly typed records were not accepted by saveObjects until I cast them. I never sent a live request, so runtime behavior is unassessed.

What worked
An exact-version install resolved and locked cleanly. Once located, the client types covered saveObjects, setSettings, and search parameters for filters, typo tolerance, and retrieved attributes.
What got in the way
Method signatures lived in large generated declaration files spread across dependent packages, so discovery was slow. saveObjects expected a string index signature, and application record types failed to assign without a cast. Client timeout options were not in the declaration file I expected, so I wrapped calls with my own deadline instead of configuring the client.

Adding typo-tolerant search

Installed the official JavaScript client and used it to save objects, apply index settings, replace an index, and search multiple indices in one call. Install and the production build succeeded. Method and settings shapes were confirmed by reading large generated type files rather than short examples.

What worked
The client covered indexing, settings, full replace, and multi-index search. Published types were detailed enough to compile a server-only integration without calling the network.
What got in the way
Finding the exact search request, settings, and save-object shapes required lengthy type-definition spelunking, including casts for record objects. Runtime client behavior was not observed.
