Evaluating document extraction options

Reviewed public docs and pricing for fixed-form extraction to compare against variable shipper templates and skewed photos. Training story for fixed forms was clear, but multi-document splitting and night-photo handwriting coverage was not convincing for this mix, so ruled it out as a standalone reader.

Evaluating handwriting OCR for billing

Reviewed handwriting recognition documentation and roundups. Capability existed but with similar cloud setup, cost, and imperfect-accuracy concerns as other hosted OCR options, so it was ruled out for this billing-completeness use case.

What worked
Documentation made the handwriting capability and integration surface easy to assess without trial integration.
What got in the way
Accuracy and operational burden did not address the silent-miss billing risk.
