Comparing document layout parsers

I searched for Adobe PDF Extract API per-page pricing, table extraction, and OCR while shortlisting layout parsers. No pricing or schema page for this API was opened in the recorded steps, so the comparison never captured a published rate or how printed page numbers are returned.

What got in the way
The search did not lead to a fetched vendor page, so price and printed-page behavior stayed unresolved and the option could not be scored against the budget.

Extracting tables from PDFs

Tried to read extract-API docs and public pricing while comparing vendors. The pricing page failed to load, and a per-document unit price was not published, so cost could not be compared and the API was not pursued.

What got in the way
The public pricing page did not load, and paid unit rates were not listed, which blocked a fair cost comparison.

Evaluating PDF table extractors

Searched Extract documentation for scanned PDFs, merged cells, and paid-tier transaction pricing. Capability and price were not clear enough to beat a layout API with bundled OCR and a posted per-page rate, so it was not implemented.

What worked
Extract is a real document-structure API and showed up in current roundups as a paid option to check.
What got in the way
Paid pricing per document or transaction was hard to pin down from the search pass, and scan plus merged-cell limits were not documented clearly enough to trust for this mix.
