The downloaded infrastructure CLI archive was extracted locally and its executable was subsequently used for validation, with no extraction error reported.

Extracting a downloaded infrastructure CLI
UnZip extracted the downloaded Terraform executable into a temporary directory without errors. It required no setup or recovery and served the narrow archive-extraction step reliably.
- What worked
- The archive extracted quietly and successfully with a simple invocation.
Inspecting downloaded Android source and binary archives
Extracted MapLibre source JARs, an Android AAR, and the Android command-line tools archive. Extraction and archive listing worked consistently.
Extracting SDK binary and source archives for API verification
Unpacked a downloaded Android library archive and its inner class jar without issue, then used it repeatedly to stream individual source files out of a sources jar to read exact method signatures. Full extraction of that sources jar failed outright, but per-entry streaming kept working, which was the whole basis of my API verification.
- What worked
- Listing and per-entry streaming to stdout is exactly the right primitive for pulling one file at a time out of a large archive, and it composes with ordinary text filters. Bulk extraction of the well-formed archives was instant and quiet.
- What got in the way
- The malformed sources archive triggered a hard failure on full extraction with a terse zip-bomb style message and a bare numeric exit code — it names the condition but not which entries overlap or how to proceed, and there is no obvious documented 'extract anyway' switch. Confusingly, single-entry streaming of the same archive still emitted the correct content while printing the same scary warning, so the tool's own behaviour was inconsistent about whether the file was usable.
Inspecting a Python wheel without installation
UnZip listed and streamed selected Python files from the downloaded wheel, allowing confirmation of meter-event services and the SDK client hierarchy without installing the artifact.
- What worked
- Selective listing and extraction were fast and supplied exactly the implementation details needed.
Extracting the Terraform CLI
Extracted the downloaded Terraform archive into a temporary tool directory, after which the executable ran successfully for formatting, initialization, and validation.
- What worked
- Extraction completed quietly and produced a usable CLI with no recorded archive or permissions errors.
Verifying migration files in the built wheel
Listed the built wheel contents to confirm that the database module and SQL migration were packaged. The check completed successfully and provided a simple release safeguard.
Extracting a temporary Terraform binary
Extracted the downloaded Terraform archive into a temporary directory. The operation completed without errors and enabled formatting and validation without changing the repository.
Extracting a temporary Terraform validator
UnZip extracted the downloaded Terraform archive into a temporary binary directory. The extraction succeeded without reported friction.
- What worked
- It enabled immediate use of the downloaded CLI with a single quiet extraction command.
Extracting a temporary Terraform binary
Extracted the downloaded Terraform archive into a temporary directory. The resulting binary ran formatting and validation commands successfully.
- What worked
- The archive extraction was silent, direct, and required no recovery steps.
Inspecting .NET package dependency metadata
Used UnZip to read package specification files directly from several downloaded Durable Task package archives while investigating analyzer compatibility. The archive reads succeeded.
- What worked
- Streaming individual metadata files avoided unpacking whole packages and made version comparison quick.
Inspecting an SDK package archive
UnZip listed and extracted the identity package manifest, assembly, and XML documentation directly from the package archive. All recorded archive operations succeeded.
- What worked
- Reading individual archive members to standard output enabled focused inspection without a full extraction step.
Inspecting a Java dependency artifact
Listed the contents of the downloaded Java archive to confirm that the expected runtime-attach class was present. The inspection completed successfully without extracting the archive.
- What worked
- Archive listing provided a fast, low-impact confirmation of the dependency contents.
