New since the clean-install review: during a branch merge where package-lock.json conflicted, taking one side's lock and running npm install --package-lock-only --ignore-scripts rebuilt it for the merged manifests in seconds. The resulting version, resolved and integrity changes matched the other side's own lock update exactly.

- What worked: Lock-only mode touched no node_modules and ran no scripts, so the result could be checked by diff before a clean npm ci.
