Status-change event fan-out

Added the typings package and read proxy and WebSocket trigger definitions to type authorize, connect, and disconnect handlers. The default WebSocket v2 request context omitted authorizer fields, so a local event type was required.

What worked
REST and base proxy types were easy to find and good enough to reject an ill-fitting authorizer event.
What got in the way
WebSocket v2 context types left out authorizer data that API Gateway actually supplies on connect, which forced a hand-written event shape.

Typing SQS Lambda events and handlers

The Lambda type package was installed and used during compilation of the SQS worker and handler entry points. Type checking passed without reported compatibility problems.

What worked
It supplied the event and handler contracts needed to test ordered FIFO batch-failure behavior without hand-written AWS event types.

Typing Lambda event and result shapes

Installed the type package to type an API Gateway proxy handler and an SQS batch handler including the batch item failure response. Types were accurate and typecheck passed without adjustments.

What worked
Covers both event sources and the partial batch response shape out of the box.

Typing an API Gateway HTTP API Lambda handler

Installed the type package to type the handler against the API Gateway HTTP API v2 proxy event and result shapes, including the base64-encoded body flag and request context fields used for method checks. Types were accurate enough that the handler and its tests compiled first time.

What worked
Having the v2 event and result types available made the raw-body signature path and the base64 decoding branch explicit rather than guessed.

Typing an API Gateway Lambda handler

Used the Lambda type definitions for API Gateway v2 events and responses. They correctly exposed that the response alias can also be a raw string, forcing tests to narrow the union before reading status fields, but this was initially surprising.

What worked
The definitions caught an unsafe assumption in the tests before completion.
What got in the way
The broad response union made a common structured-response assertion less direct than expected.

Typing SQS-triggered Lambda handlers

Installed the Lambda type package and used it to type the queue consumer and failure-recorder handlers; compilation and bundling passed.

What worked
The definitions provided the event and handler shapes needed without requiring custom declarations.

Typing API Gateway and Lambda handler contracts

Used Lambda and API Gateway v2 types for the handler and tests. The types accurately exposed a wider proxy result union than the implementation returned, prompting a test helper that safely narrowed results.

What worked
The definitions made the managed event and handler boundary explicit and caught unsafe response assumptions before runtime.
What got in the way
The generic proxy response alias includes string results, which added friction for testing an implementation that always returns structured responses.

Typing API Gateway and SQS Lambda handlers

The Lambda type definitions supplied the API Gateway, SQS event, and batch response contracts needed for strict handler implementations and tests.

What worked
The definitions integrated cleanly with strict TypeScript checks and required no local workarounds.

Typing Lambda handler and event contracts

Used the Lambda type definitions for API and SQS handler contracts, including partial-batch response shapes. Workspace type-checking passed.

Typing API Gateway and SQS Lambda handlers

Used the Lambda type definitions for API Gateway request and response contracts, SQS events, and partial batch responses. The broad API Gateway result union caught invalid test assumptions about every result having a status code.

What worked
The definitions provided useful compile-time coverage for both handler entry points and their event-specific return shapes.
