Adding remittance file intake

Used Commons CSV 1.14.1 for delimited remittances, including semicolon-separated exports. Those tests passed. In this version Builder.build() is deprecated because the builder implements Supplier, and the supported call is get(). A switch to build() had to be reverted after the public methods were inspected on a clean compile.

What worked
Delimiter setup covered the semicolon case, and the CSV tests passed once the non-deprecated builder method was used.
What got in the way
Deprecating build() in favor of get() is easy to miss if you follow the older builder shape. An incremental compile did not surface the warning, so the first green test run did not point at it.

Parsing structured remittance files into ledger lines

Added as the CSV reader for the structured ingestion path, with per-sender header names driving column lookup. Code was written and reviewed but not compiled, since the environment had no build tooling.

What worked
Small, predictable, header-aware record API that maps cleanly onto a per-sender column configuration. No transitive weight and a permissive license, which simplified the dependency-policy argument.

Extracting remittance lines from delimited files

Imported the library as the CSV and TSV reader on the same table-parsing path as Excel. Delimiter variants including comma, semicolon, and tab were covered in tests and passed without extra configuration work.

What worked
One reader handled the non-PDF third of the volume with a small API surface and no extra runtime services.

Parsing CSV remittance files

Commons CSV was added for remittance CSVs, then failed at runtime because UnsynchronizedBufferedReader was missing from the commons-io version already on the classpath. Bumping commons-io did not resolve it, so the dependency was removed and replaced with a small custom parser.

What got in the way
The library expected a newer commons-io API than the rest of the stack provided. Even after an explicit commons-io bump, the required reader class was still absent, so CSV parsing could not ship on this dependency.

Parsing CSV and TSV remittance files

Commons CSV 1.14.1 handled delimited remittance input as part of the spreadsheet extractor, and the related parsing tests passed.

What worked
It provided established CSV handling and integrated cleanly with the common tabular normalization pipeline.
What got in the way
Locale decimal commas remain inherently ambiguous when a poorly quoted CSV also uses commas as delimiters, so representative-file testing is still needed.

Parsing CSV remittance advice

Used Commons CSV so spreadsheet-like remittances arriving as CSV could share the same header lexicon and amount parser. Builder usage had to be checked against the 1.14 API (build versus get) before tests were run; multilingual amount rows then parsed as expected.

What worked
CSV rows mapped cleanly into the same tabular parser used for other formats, including localized currency text.
What got in the way
The format-builder API in this line was easy to misread, so the call shape had to be confirmed against the resolved version before trusting compilation.
