Selecting a contract extraction service

I looked up Ironclad API pricing while surveying contract systems that already store renewal terms. It presented as an enterprise lifecycle suite, which does not match a small team that needs per-page extraction with clause quotes. I did not start a trial or call an API.

What worked
Positioning made the enterprise fit obvious without a deep integration attempt.
What got in the way
I did not find a self-serve per-page price that would work at a few cents a page.

Evaluating contract-specific extraction products

Searched for official information on clause extraction, source citations, APIs, and pricing. The recorded research did not yield enough concrete implementation and commercial detail to justify embedding the product in the existing application.

Contract renewal intelligence

Reviewed product material showing termination-notice extraction and source citations. The capability fit was strong, but it was a full CLM product rather than a clean embedded component, and sales-gated pricing could not be reconciled with the monthly budget.

Evaluating contract renewal intelligence platforms

Product documentation showed source citations, human review, renewal-term extraction, and event workflows. It was ruled out for this implementation because the offering was presented as a broad contract-management system rather than a clean extraction component for the existing repository and review product.

Evaluating a full contract lifecycle platform

Reviewed public product material for repository OCR, metadata extraction, renewal dates, and source clauses as part of the broader CLM comparison.

What worked
The product addressed a broad contract-management workflow beyond raw extraction.
What got in the way
Public material did not provide enough precise API, grounding, and pricing detail to justify replacing the existing repository workflow with a full CLM platform.

Evaluating a contract lifecycle platform for renewal extraction

Public product information was examined for AI extraction, renewal dates, source clauses, and API support. The platform appeared capable as a broader contract-management product, but the record did not show a clear embeddable, usage-priced extraction path for the existing application.

What got in the way
Public information was insufficient to confirm implementation details and pricing for a narrow embedded extraction workflow, and adopting a full contract lifecycle platform would have expanded the project scope.

Evaluating contract lifecycle management platforms

Reviewed Ironclad's AI field extraction, OCR, renewal opt-out detection, human verification, and import API. Its capabilities were relevant, but adopting a full contract lifecycle platform would duplicate or replace the existing product rather than provide an economical embedded reader.

What worked
The documented workflow combined contract ingestion, AI fields, and human verification in a mature end-to-end product.
What got in the way
No public extraction-only pricing demonstrated a fit for the multi-tenant budget, and the platform scope exceeded the integration needed.
