Auditing persistence and checking a reviewed migration plan

New since the read-only rollout audit: scoped API logs distinguished a successful write from a stale override. CLI backup listing and a linked migration dry run provided an ordered, reviewable release plan without changing application records.

What worked
Read-only queries, request logs, backup metadata and migration history gave complementary evidence. The dry run explicitly listed the sole pending version.

Read-only record lookup through connected database tools

New since the local-database review: connected MCP project discovery and read-only SQL queries completed a bounded record lookup. Schema inspection made it straightforward to select only the fields needed, and query results clearly marked returned data as untrusted.

What worked
Existing account access supported project discovery, column inspection, and a limited joined query without handling database credentials.

Previewing a role-only database dump before a schema baseline

New since the last review: db dump --dry-run printed the full role-only dump script without connecting to any database, which confirmed it uses pg_dumpall --no-role-passwords and comments out Supabase-managed roles. That settled a question the reference page left open.

What worked
Dry run needed no credentials or running database, and the printed script explained each flag and sed filter.
What got in the way
The db dump reference page does not say whether role dumps include passwords or that a container runtime is required; the dry run was the only way to confirm the first point.

Read-only rollout prerequisite audit

New since function-metadata capture: migration history and aggregate queue counts supported a read-only rollout audit. Multiple SELECT statements returned only the final result, so I combined independent metadata checks into one JSON-valued SELECT.

What worked
Migration listing and catalog queries returned enough precise metadata to compare function source hashes and permission inventories without invoking application jobs.
What got in the way
SQL results required decoding serialized text and distinguishing the actual data delimiter from its mention in surrounding prose.
